The Procore Championship at Silverado marks the start of the FedExCup Fall. Max Homa, Maverick McNealy, and Patton Kizzire are all trying to build up momentum in Napa that will help them win the season.
Procore Championship 2025: A Big Boost for PGA TOUR Players’ Seasons

NAPA, California The 2025 Procore Championship at Silverado Resort is more than just another PGA TOUR tournament. It’s the start of the FedExCup Fall and a chance for players to set the tone for the next season.
The new FedExCup season starts in Napa, where Tommy Fleetwood won the TOUR Championship in 2024. The momentum he gained in the fall can change the course of an entire year
Patton Kizzire: A Strong Start Sets the Tone
Defending champion Patton Kizzire, who won the 2024 Procore Championship by five strokes, said, “For most of us, it’s really important.” We are trying to get ahead of each other and move up the board so we can get more chances next season.
A hot fall can get you into Signature Events and even make you want to play in the Ryder Cup.
Success Stories: Spaun and McNealy Show How Important Fall Is

Results from the fall have changed careers. After a strong finish in 2024, J.J. Spaun moved up from No. 98 to the Aon Next 10. This earned him a spot in majors and Signature Events, as well as the Ryder Cup
Maverick McNealy also took advantage of the situation. His first win on the PGA TOUR came at The RSM Classic during the FedExCup Fall. This opened up a lot of opportunities for him, including spots in the first two Signature Events of the next season. That run helped him come in second at The Genesis Invitational
“The fall is very big. McNealy said, “Even for guys who aren’t in the top 50, those early Signature Events set you up for success.”
Max Homa’s Comeback to Silverado

Max Homa is one of the few players who has a strong connection to Silverado Resort. In 2013, the Burbank native made his PGA TOUR debut here and won the Procore title in 2021 and 2022.
Homa is ready to start over after finishing 111th in the 2025 FedExCup standings and not making the Playoffs.
“I won when it was the wraparound season… it was just a bigger part of the season than most people knew. “It got you ahead early,” Homa said.
Even though he has status for next year, his goal this fall is to break into the top 100 of the FedExCup while also balancing family life, as he welcomed his second child in August.
Why the Procore Championship Is Important

The Procore Championship is more than just a stop in September; it’s the start of a whole season of chances. Players know that doing well at Silverado can help them get to the Ryder Cup and other big events later in the season.
Max Homa, along with stars like McNealy, Spaun, and Kizzire, is back for the first time in more than ten years. Their goal is to use Napa as the base for a successful 2026 season.
