Scottie Scheffler Stays Focused at the Procore Championship Before the 2025 Ryder Cup

This September, the Procore Championship at Silverado Resort in Napa, California, is getting a lot of unusual attention.  The 2025 Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black is just a few weeks away, and 10 U.S. Ryder Cup team players are competing. All of them are ranked in the top 25 in the world. This makes the event feel more like a team warm-up than a regular PGA TOUR stop.

Scheffler’s focus on the tournament

Number one in the world  Scottie Scheffler came to Napa with the intention of making it more than just a practice for the Ryder Cup.  He said after his pro-am, “I didn’t come to Napa to talk about the Ryder Cup for four days. I’m here to play in a golf tournament.”

Scheffler hasn’t finished outside the top eight since THE PLAYERS Championship in March. He’s still focused on his form and the competition.  Ted Scott, Scheffler’s caddie, gave him a lot of information about clubs and lines, making sure that Scheffler treats the Silverado course like any other big event.

Before Bethpage, the team was together

2025 Ryder Cup

The Procore Championship is perfectly timed between the Ryder Cup and the TOUR Championship.  Xander Schauffele and other players worked hard to make sure that Team USA didn’t make the same mistake as in 2023, when they showed up at Marco Simone rusty after a month off.

U.S. Captain Keegan Bradley said, “This Ryder Cup means everything to them.Good things happen when the players are responsible for their team.”

The PGA of America rented a team house in Napa to help people get along better.  Players and assistant captains have been getting together for dinners, strategy talks, and team-building activities.

A Taste of the Ryder Cup at Silverado

In the early rounds of the Ryder Cup, teammates were paired on purpose, which made it feel like they were getting ready.  The pro-am even had all 10 U.S. players playing together, which showed how united American golf is.

Collin Morikawa said it best: “It’s great to have almost everyone here this week.”  There have been a lot of good vibes at the meetings and dinners we’ve had.  That’s what you want.

Staying in the moment and looking at the challenge

Scheffler sees the Procore Championship as more than just practice; it’s part of his mental strategy to stay sharp and focused.

“The majors are always on your mind, but the Ryder Cup is a great challenge because of the pressure. You’re playing for your country and your partner.  I’m here.  “I’m ready to play this week.”

Silverado isn’t just a warm-up; it’s a place to show off your skills before the biggest team test in golf.
